Iberarchivos commemorates International Human Rights Day with a Virtual Exhibition covering 57 projects from 38 institutions and 11 countries.

Today more than ever we remember the importance of archives as valuable sources of information for victims to assert their rights in the search for truth and reconciliation.

Archives are fundamental for the promotion and protection of human rights, for the reconstruction of historical memory and for documenting transitional justice and, in particular, the contribution of the Iberarchivos programme is the rescue and preservation of documentary testimonies related to human rights violations, which has ultimately made it possible to safeguard this memory of the past of some authoritarian regimes in the Ibero-American context.

In Iberarchivos, in the framework of this important day, we emphasise the importance of working in favour of Human Rights and preserving archives in order to guarantee access to information for citizens.

Knowing and accessing #Archives is key to decision-making, transparency, good governance and accountability.

We invite you to visit this Expo and learn about the projects on #HumanRights co-funded by Iberarchivos.
