In addition to projects that make a general contribution to capacity building and the improvement of archival institutions, projects that include some of the following priority lines of action for the Programme will have priority for this call for support.
The ultimate aim of the projects will be to promote Ibero-American citizens’ right of access to archives, as archives have a responsibility to facilitate access to individual and collective memory and to consolidate the existence of an informed society, as the foundation of democracy, accountability and good administration.
In previous calls, in addition to projects that generally contributed to developing skills and improving archival institutions, a reserve was set aside from the Call’s budget for those projects that fell within the Programme’s priority lines.
- Promoting a gender perspective. Projects that include measures to reduce inequality between men and women, to strengthen women’s skills, to highlight women’s contribution to society or, if the applicant institution is a women’s rights organisation, will be positively valued.
- Promoting a multicultural perspective. A project that contributes to respecting Ibero-American ethnic and cultural diversity, to identifying the needs and solutions of ethnic/racial groups, or if the applicant institution works in defence of these population groups, will be positively valued.
- Promotion of non-discrimination and diversity. A project that contributes to combating discriminatory practices against vulnerable population groups (the disabled, victims of human rights violations, migrant workers, displaced populations, the LGTBIQ+ community, among others), historically marginalised gender identities, or if the applicant institution is an organisation that works with these groups, will be positively valued.
- Promotion of the common archival heritage as a way of strengthening Ibero-American culturalidentity . A project that focuses on aspects related to the shared memory and heritage of Ibero-American peoples; that contributes to building, promoting and valorising our common traditions, identity and history; or if the project is related to Iberian archival tradition, fostering good professional practices typical of our shared tradition, will be positively valued.
- Promoting decentralisation. Projects carried out by regional or local institutions, as spaces for full participation and exercise of citizenship, which usually have greater difficulty in accessing external funding, will be favourably valued.
- Promoting disaster prevention in archives. A project that aims to take preventive action against the effects of disasters in archives, caused by different types of catastrophe, such as fire, water, physical forces, meteorological phenomena, as well as man’s actions through acts of vandalism, sabotage, war or simply accidental failures, will be favourably considered.
- Promoting computerised systems for digital management and preservation, as a guarantee of the protection of documentary heritage in electronic format and the promotion of access to information. It will be positively valued if the technical documents contained in the project are designed to enhance the management and preservation of native digital documents considered to be of permanent value, ensuring their access, durability and usability.
