The Intergovernmental Council of the Iberarchives Programme will hold its annual meeting on 3 and 4 March 2025 in Havana.

The XXIX Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Iberarchives beginsThe event, organised by the Directorate of Documentary Management and Archives of CITMA (Government of Cuba) will bring together archival authorities from more than 10 Ibero-American countries.

The official opening, scheduled for 3 March, will be attended by the Cuban Vice-Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Adianez Taboada Zamora, marking the beginning of a key meeting for archival cooperation in the region.

One of the highlights of the agenda is the resolution of the projects selected in the 2024 call for proposals, as well as the approval of a new call for proposals for 2025. The new president of the Council will also be elected.

As a complementary part of the agenda, Martha Ferriol Marchena and Maryuska Hernández Reyes will present the progress of the National System of Documentary Management and Archives of Cuba, emphasising its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals, in a presentation by Martha Ferriol Marchena and Maryuska Hernández Reyes.

In addition, as part of the official programme, the Cuban Minister and Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment will participate in the gala dinner at the emblematic Hotel Nacional.

The meeting will conclude with a visit to the National Archive of the Republic of Cuba and a tour of the historic centre of Havana, reinforcing the commitment to the preservation of the Ibero-American documentary heritage.
