The Iberarchives Programme, together with Ibermemoria Sonora, Fotográfica e Audiovisual and the Ibero-American Diplomatic Archives Network, are calling for the “First Ibero-American meeting on archives and artificial intelligence: cooperation for the preservation of memory in the digital age”. This meeting seeks to give visibility to, reflect on, discuss and share experiences about the possibilities that artificial intelligence offers in documentary processes for their preservation.
Meeting objectives:
- To share experiences: Related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the management of documentary, photographic, sound and audiovisual archives.
- Reflect on the challenges presented by AI for the technical and intellectual management of different types of archives.
- Explore collaborations: With institutions, research centres and bodies developing AI systems applicable to archives.
- Analyse the responsible and ethical use of AI in the preservation of documentary and audiovisual collections.
Call for papers:
Aimed at: The archival and library community, researchers, teachers, students, the private sector and civil society interested in archives, heritage and AI.
Dates: 28 and 29 October 2024.
Participation: Submit a presentation abstract with experiences or contributions on the use of AI in the preservation of archival documents.
Deadline: 30 September 2024.
Presentations: 15 minutes.
