The XXVIII Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council, which took place on 18 and 19 April in Montevideo (Uruguay), has come to an end. The event brought together the national archival authorities of the Programme’s member countries, as well as representatives from the Cultural Space of the Ibero-American General Secretariat of SEGIB, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Organisation of Ibero-American States (OEI).
The 1st edition of the Professional Exchange Scholarships for stays at the National Archives of Costa Rica (financed with AECID’s voluntary contribution in 2023 to the Iberarchivos Programme) has been approved. The two diagnoses of Public Policies and Gender Policies in the Ibero-American Archival Community, carried out by consultant Guadalupe Basualdo, were also approved.
DiagnosticsAs part of the XXVIII Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Ibero-Archives Programme, the “Montevideo Declaration” was issued. The document was read out at the Palacio Legislativo, in a protocolary ceremony chaired by Uruguay’s Vice-Minister of Education and Culture, with the participation of the president of the Intergovernmental Council, the coordinator of SEGIB’s Ibero-American Cultural Space and the director of AGN Uruguay.
Text DeclarationIn the field of cooperation, an agreement was signed with the UNESCO International Centre for Documentary Heritage in Korea (ICDH) for training in documentary heritage, with the participation of the President of the Iberarchives Programme and the Secretary General of the ICDH.
AcuerdoFinally, the Intergovernmental Council selected the projects to be funded for the 2024-2025 period. The results will soon be available on the website (www.iberarchivos.org) or via our social networks.
Without a doubt, this space has achieved its goal of being an inclusive forum that promotes and enriches the progress of programmes and projects in favour of the Ibero-American archival community.
