As part of the XXVIII Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Iberarchives Programme, the “Montevideo Declaration” has been issued.
The reading of the document took place in the Legislative Palace in a protocolary act presided by the Vice-minister of Education and Culture of Uruguay, with the participation of the president of the Intergovernmental Council, the coordinator of the Ibero-American Cultural Space of the SEGIB and the director of the AGN Uruguay.
The event was also attended by the archival authorities of the Iberarchivos member countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Uruguay. As well as legislators and members of the diplomatic corps stationed in Montevideo.
