On 26 and 27 March, the XXVI Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Iberarchivos was held in Toluca de Lerdo (Mexico), the perfect setting for the resolution of the XXIV Call for Grants for archival projects, with a total of 36 archival projects selected from all over Ibero-America, which will receive funding with the aim of preserving the memory of the Ibero-American people.
On this occasion, the following projects were selected by country: Argentina, 4 projects; Brazil, 3 projects; Chile, 3 projects; Colombia, 3 projects; Ecuador, 3 projects; Spain, 3 projects; Mexico, 3 projects; Peru, 4 projects; Portugal, 1 project; Puerto Rico, 2 projects; Dominican Republic, 2 projects; Uruguay, 5 projects.
During the meeting it was decided that, as a show of solidarity with the Peruvian people and the archival community of Peru, an extraordinary aid of up to 25,000 euros will be granted to generate an emergency intervention project with the aim of alleviating the damage caused to the region’s archives by cyclone Yaku.
