The Iberarchivos cooperation programme congratulates Alejandra Salazar Ruiz, who has been appointed as the new Director of the National Historical Archives of Ecuador. Salazar is a social communicator, senior specialist in records and archives management, and has been an archivist for 19 years.
For more than 12 years, she has worked in the different units of the National Archives of Ecuador, now the National Historical Archives; during her professional life, she has worked in management and concentration archives in various state institutions, as well as being a founding member of the Ecuadorian Association of Archivists.
She is a great professional with an extensive career in archives and public management in relevant positions. Among her priority lines of work, she intends to bring the Archives closer to citizens and increase the Institution’s profile at national and international level.
