The Iberarchivos cooperation programme congratulates Pablo Antonio Fontdevila on his recent appointment as Director of the General Archive of the Nation of Argentina. Fontdevila holds a degree in Physics from the University of Tucumán and a diploma in “Globalisation and Regional Integration” from Georgetown University. He is a professional with an extensive career in public management in positions of relevance in both the executive and legislative branches of government.
Fontdevila has worked in the Civil Service as Secretary of the Civil Service of the Ministry of the Interior, Minister of Government of the Province of Tucumán and Chief of Cabinet of the Federal Intervention in Santiago del Estero. He was also a National Deputy and President of the Communications and Informatics Commission (1999-2003). In the Academic activity he was Associate Professor of Technologies Applied to Public Management and Director of the Department of Science and Technology at the National University of Tres de Febrero. He was Executive Director of Conectar Igualdad, the largest computer programme in education in the world, and Director of the Universal Child Allowance Programme.
