It is important to mention that this work was made possible thanks to the Brazil project 2018/024 Existimos! Contra o silêncio e esquecimento – pela preservação e difusão dos conjuntos documentais do AEL. A work that recovers historical memory, as a fundamental element of human rights and the preservation of the memory of the LGBT population in Campinas, Brazil, with the mission of guaranteeing rights for future generations.
Among the objectives of this project are: to be a reference point of memory for research on the human rights of the LGBT population in Brazil and on social movements for the defence of sexual diversity. It is important to highlight that for the LGBT population of the city of Campinas, their memory and the production of their historical and social narratives on the struggle against discrimination are fundamental, as they show a way of social inclusion for this group.
Expected results of this project: 1) Technical processing of this documentation of the LGBT movement of Campinas, 2) Conservation and digitisation of the documentary heritage of the Campinas identity group, 3) Dissemination of the documentary collections of the LGBT movement and its struggle against sexual discrimination.
