The Iberarchivos cooperation programme extends its congratulations and recognition to Hilda Teresa Ayala-González on her recent appointment as the Archivist General of Puerto Rico.
Hilda Teresa holds a Master’s degree in Information Science and a Certificate in Archives and Records Management from the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology of the University of Puerto Rico.
She has extensive professional experience in the field of library and archival science both in Puerto Rico and abroad, having also completed a Master’s degree in Archival Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. There he was a graduate assistant in Preservation at the UBC Library and worked with collection assessment, climate monitoring and the preparation of disaster prevention plans.
She previously served as Research Services Librarian at the Graduate Research and Innovation Center (GRIC) at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, where she offered workshops on digital resources, scholarly communication and data management and research documentation. She is currently the vice-president of the Puerto Rico Archives Network (ArchiRED) and a founding member of the Cultural Alliance for Emergencies in Puerto Rico.
