According to UN Women: “I am Equality Generation: For Women’s Rights” is the theme chosen to highlight International Women’s Day (8 March) 2020.

This theme is in line with UN Women‘s new multi-generational campaign , Equality Generation, which commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which was adopted in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, and is recognized as the most progressive roadmap for the empowerment of women and girls worldwide.

The Iberarchives Programme has been committed to the gender perspective since its inception and we would like to highlight that one of the programme’s priority lines of action is the promotion of the gender perspective. In fact, in the annual call for grants for archival projects, it is positively valued when one of the programme’s projects incorporates measures to reduce inequality between men and women, strengthening women’s capacities and making women’s contribution to society more visible.

Iberarchivos joins UN Women’s Generation Equality campaign to accelerate actions towards gender equality.

We invite you to learn about some of the projects with a gender perspective that have received funding from the Ibero-American Cooperation Programme:

Gender Equality is not only a fundamental right, it is the necessary basis for a prosperous and sustainable world!
