This publication, quoting Mercedes de Vega, Director General of the Archivo General de la Nación of Mexico and President of the Latin American Association of Archives (ALA), “(…) is not only an alphabetical list of countries with a high number of archives, but also an alphabetical list of countries with a high number of archives.) is not only an alphabetical list of countries with their national archives, dates of creation, holders, addresses, mission, vision and respective legislations, but above all a practical working tool for professionals, researchers, academics and students of archival science, who will find in the work specific data, previously dispersed, that will speed up their tasks and favour greater knowledge and better communication between our peoples“.
