We are very excited with the result of the Neda-MC, a theoretical reference model based on the entity-relationship modelling scheme, which represents the consolidation of the foundations adopted by the CNEDA in terms of archival description in the documents approved in June 2012 and May 2017.

Developed with the intention of identifying the functional requirements that must be taken into account in the design and configuration of archival description systems, a consistent and logical model has been achieved at a high level of abstraction, identifying and encompassing all the possible elements that fit in an archival description. It employs data modelling elements that can be shared by other disciplines.

Neda-MC is designed to be applicable to any environment using archival data, ultimately promoting the use of multiple entities and relationships between them as a basic tool for implementing today’s descriptive environments.
