On 2 February 2017, the meeting “The role of the National Archive in Chilean archival policy: a retrospective balance” will be held in the Ricardo Donoso Hall of the National Historical Archive, Miraflores 50, Santiago de Chile.
From 6.30pm to 8.30pm, a dialogue will be held on the role that the institution has played in the archival policy of this country, with the participation of former curators of the National Archive: Claudio Vidal (1971-1973), Jorge Hidalgo (1990-1994) and María Eugenia Barrientos (1994-2008).
This meeting is aimed at the archival community and the general public. The aim is to comment on and discuss the debates and initiatives taken by the curators and directors of the Archive on legislative and administrative matters throughout the history of Chile.
The activity is organised by the Study Group on Archives in Chile and the FECH Archive, and sponsored by the National Archive. Admission is free.
