On 30 November in Madrid (Spain), the closing ceremony and presentation of diplomas took place for the School of Archives for Ibero-America, which forms part of the IBEREX programme of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, through which grants are awarded for the training of Ibero-American professionals in different cultural fields.

During the 2016 edition, the Archive School welcomed 9 archivists from different Ibero-American countries. The training received, given between the National Historical Archive in Madrid and the General Archive of the Indies in Seville, consisted of various classes and talks with different Spanish archival authorities and study visits to the main archives in Spain.
At the ceremony, both the organisers and the students expressed their great satisfaction with the programme and its important role in the exchange of professional techniques and experiences in this field.

Since its first edition in 1991, the IBEREX programme has benefited more than 400 Ibero-American archivists.
