From Iberarchivos – ADAI Programme, we are pleased to announce that UNESCO awarded us the Jikji Prize of the Memory of the World Programme.

The Jikji Prize is a prize created in 2004 by the Executive Board of UNESCO as a means to promote the Memory of the World Programme and to commemorate the inscription of the Jikji, or “Buljo jikji simche yojeol”, the oldest printed book with movable metal type. This prize is awarded every two years to individuals or entities that have made a significant contribution to the preservation and accessibility of documentary heritage.

It will be a great honour for Iberarchivos – ADAI Programme to receive the award on behalf of all the Ibero-American countries that have participated in the programme during its 18 years of operation.
In addition to the prestige and recognition of the work carried out by the Programme, the Prize is endowed with 30,000 dollars.

The award ceremony will take place on 1 September in the Republic of Korea and the Iberarchivos ADAI Programme will be presented at a round table on Documentary Heritage.
