The Ernesto Celesia Collection brings together approximately 9,000 books for the study of the Río de la Plata and Spanish America. There is also a newspaper and periodicals library made up of 19th century magazines and newspapers from Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay, totalling 190 complete collections, 87 incomplete collections and 200 titles, as well as a collection of pamphlets.

The inventory contains the call number, author, title, place of publication, publisher or printer, year of publication, number of pages, whether there are illustrations, plates or maps, and whether the book is damaged or has binding problems.

Collection of Memoirs of the Ministries of the Treasury, Economy, Finance, Education and Justice, Interior, Agriculture, War and Navy, Public Works, Foreign Affairs, Labour and the National Accountant’s Office, totalling 844 volumes.

Two types of work have been carried out on the already bound books, firstly on those in very poor condition (broken covers and/or disarticulated blocks of paper, with papers repaired with adhesive tape, and various tears) and secondly on those requiring minor repairs (partial reintegration of spines and hinges or placing new leather spines under the current ones, in both cases cleaning, dismantling and stitching if necessary, paper guards and covers will be carried out.
